Why spend lots and lots of money on one thing when there are a lot of multi-purpose products we can find around the house that can do a whole lot of other things? One favorite and absolutely worth the investment (it’s cheap, it’s more of a steal!) is baby powder. Believe it or not, baby powder can work wonders and we’re here to share with you some awesome tips!
Let’s start with the eyes, well the eyelashes to be exact. We all want longer and thicker looking lashes so this just might do the trick! Just pour a little amount of baby powder on the palm of your hand and dip a Q-tip or eyeshadow brush in powder and dab it onto the lashes before putting on mascara. You can also put mascara on first and dab some powder over it and put on another coat of mascara. Either way, both methods guarantee fuller lashes! Another part of the body that can benefit from baby powder is the lips. Just pat a little bit of powder between two layers of lipstick. The color stays on perfectly throughout the day or night. Worried about oily skin and wondering if your makeup will stay all day long? Set your makeup with baby powder! Use a powder brush and apply a small amount all over face to keep it as luminous as possible. The powder will absorb any excess oil to keep the face from looking too shiny. It’s the perfect finishing touch.
So what else can baby powder do? On our “Protect Your Hair This Summer” article, we talked a little bit and shared a video about baby powder as an alternative to dry shampoo. Just rub it onto roots and spread evenly on hair. Not only does it get rid of the grease, it also adds more volume to your crowning glory! Talk about hitting two birds with one stone! Baby powder can also be very beneficial for good hygiene. You can use it as deodorant, spread it on your underarms and it will absorb perspiration. You can also use it for sweaty, smelly feet especially in this hot weather! Rub some on your toes and sprinkle some in your shoes to leave your feet feeling fresh.
We have one more tip for you as if all this isn’t enough to convince you to stock up on baby powder! Tangled necklaces are a definite pet peeve of ours. Is there an easy solution to this? Yes, you guessed it. Baby powder to the rescue yet again. Just give those tangles a quick sprinkle and rub between your fingers and thumb and this gently loosens the knots.
So go ahead and give these a try. You’re very welcome. :)
